Exotic Food Dishes: Big Butt Ants for Your Dining Pleasure

Yes ... it really is true: There are people who are eating Big Butt Ants. When it comes to exotic food dishes, even the most up to date of connoisseurs assumes someone is joking when mention is made of eating Big Butt Ants.

Big Butt Ants frankly are aptly named. The rear section of these ants is exceptionally large. Indeed, it is the "butt" of this ant that has added to its allure to people who enjoy exotic food dishes. In a moment, you will see how and why the "butt" is a major draw for those people who enjoy a break from their normal dining routines to enjoy Bit Butt Ants.

Big Butt Ants actually are indigenous to Columbia. Historically, these little creatures were eaten by people native to this region of South America. However, in most recent times, Big Butt Ants have become utter delicacies in different places around the globe.

In considering exotic dishes like Big Butt Ants, there are a number of different preparation options available to a person interested in dining on these insects. First, Big Butt Ants can be baked or toasted (for those who are perhaps a bit more health conscious). In the alternative Bit Butt Ants can be fried. Rarely is it recommended that Big Butt Ants be consumed raw.

Of course, you may be wondering why Big Butt Ants are gaining such a following amongst people who enjoy exotic dishes. On some level people are attracted to the taste of toasted (or fried) Big Butt Ants. But, on many other levels, people who enjoy exotic dishes tend to favor Big Butt Ants because of the sensations dining on these critters actually evoke when eaten.

When a person takes an initial, tentative bite into a Big Butt Ant, the texture and sound of the munch feels rather like popcorn. In fact, many a nibbler has said that on first blush (bite) the Big Butt Ant actually does taste rather like popcorn.

But, then the teeth mash the "big butt" and the person munching on the Big Butt Ant is treated to a wild spray of juices in his or her mouth. Many people comment on this remarkable explosion of juices as being the most memorable aspect of dining on Big Butt Ants.

Finally, what are oftentimes described as filament-like legs then slide down a diner's throat, carried off and away by the abundance of juice that fills a person's mouth when eating the bug.

On a final note, while worker Big Butt Ants are more common, the queen from a colony really is an extreme delicacy - with an even larger "butt."
